On April 19, 2024 around one AM, James Brusenhan was crossing E. Broad Street near Richmond Woods Dr. Mr. Brusenhan was struck by a vehicle while crossing outside of the marked crosswalk. Mr. Brusenhan was struck by a second vehicle while trying to get out of the roadway. Neither of the vehicle remained at the scene. On Saturday, September 19, 2020, at 3:04pm, Columbus Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Sullivant Avenue and S. Wheatland Avenue, on a report of a female bleeding from her face. Officers arrived and spoke with the victim. She advised Officers that there were two more bodies inside of 511 S. Wheatland Avenue. The female was rushed to a local area hospital in critical condition. Officers searched the residence and found Lionel Adams and Candace Carr deceased. Leads in the case have gone stale and help is requested.

On 12/24/23 at approximately 2:25AM the victim was working as an unarmed security bouncer at “The Spot Bar” located at 5999 E. Livingston Ave. The victim was attempting to clear the parking lot at closing time when he advised two male blacks standing in the parking lot that it was time for them to leave the premises. One of the males in particular became argumentative with the victim and pulled a handgun out of his waistband and shot the victim numerous times in the torso, arms and legs. The victim’s life was saved due to a bulletproof vest he was wearing at the time of the incident.
