On July 3, 2021, at 1:52am, officers were dispatched to 686 Wedgewood Ave #4 on an unknown complaint. Officers arrived and spoke with the caller who advised he just returned to his apartment and an unknown male was inside, on the floor bleeding. Officers entered the hallway and through a partially opened the door, noticed the victim, Dustin S. Lacey, suffering from a gunshot wound. Columbus Fire Engine #12 checked the victim's injuries and pronounced him deceased at 2:01am.
